“We may be down, but we are not out” — Boakye Agyarko vows to revive NPP as he files for National Chairman

Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko has announced his intention to revive the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and return it to political power. A group of high-ranking NPP members and supporters accompanied Mr Agyarko to the party's headquarters to officially file his nomination for the position of National Chairman. Following a call from 50 NPP constituency chairpersons, Mr Agyarko accepted the responsibility to lead the party's resurgence, stating that his motivation was not personal gain but rather a duty to restore the party.

He emphasized that despite the NPP's current struggles, the organization still possessed the potential to rebound. Mr Agyarko invoked religious teachings to inspire party members, asserting that trials will eventually be succeeded by better periods. He expressed confidence that the NPP would overcome its present obstacles and reclaim government seats.

As the primary goal, Mr Agyarko aims to help the NPP regain power and endorse the presidential aspirations of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. According to Mr Agyarko, a victorious NPP under Dr Bawumia would prioritize enhancing governance and fostering conditions for peace and progress in Ghana. He presented his candidacy to the party and the public, requesting NPP delegates' support, stating: "NPP delegates, give me your votes, and we will complete the task before you."
