Tiger Woods to Appear Before Judge Following DUI Arrest and Rehab Stay

In a forthcoming appearance before a Florida judge, renowned golfer Tiger Woods is set to address his recent DUI arrest and rehabilitation stay. According to court records obtained by People on August 26, the 50-year-old Woods is scheduled to make his first in-person appearance on September 8, according to Martin County, Florida court documents.

In March, Woods was arrested for DUI and charged with causing property damage and refusing a urine test after a rollover crash on Jupiter Island, where his Land Rover flipped after "overtaking" a truck hauling a pressure-cleaning trailer. The probable cause affidavit reveals that authorities found two hydrocodone pills in Woods' pants pocket upon his arrest.

Following the incident, Woods was granted permission to leave the United States and underwent a six-week treatment program abroad, with his doctor citing his "complex clinical presentation" as the reason for seeking specialized care beyond U.S. boundaries. The prosecution intends to include Woods' prescription drug history in the trial, despite his attorney's attempts to keep the records confidential.

Woods had previously undergone treatment for substance abuse issues and was briefly discharged from his Swiss rehabilitation facility in late May to support his girlfriend Vanessa Trump, who had recently revealed her breast cancer diagnosis. He returned to Switzerland shortly after to continue his treatment.
