Tamil Nadu to take advanced healthcare facilities beyond Chennai: Minister

Tamil Nadu is set to expand advanced healthcare facilities beyond Chennai to smaller cities, according to Health Minister K.G. Arunraj. The state has shifted its focus from merely treating illnesses to promoting "positive health," aiming to provide access to health information and well-being for all, regardless of income. Speaking at the launch of Apollo Speciality Hospitals in Teynampet, Arunraj highlighted the government's collaboration with private hospitals like Apollo to conduct cancer screenings, particularly for breast cancer, across the state.

Apollo Hospitals recently announced the expansion of its oncology facility from a cancer center to a multi-specialty hospital, bringing together various clinical departments such as cardiac sciences, neurosciences, and more. This expansion reflects the hospital's commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare to families, moving beyond cancer care to address a wide range of chronic and severe ailments.
