Swine flu in Delhi: H1N1 cases climb past 2,400; Health min holds review meeting with govt hospitals: Top 10 updates

Delhi reported 138 new H1N1 cases within a 24-hour period, raising the total number of cases to 2,446 this year, according to the Delhi government. The cumulative number of Influenza-A cases in the capital has reached 3,177, with H1N1 being the most prevalent strain, as reported by Health Minister Pankaj Singh. The minister chaired a virtual meeting with hospital directors to assess their readiness for the outbreak and instructed hospitals to improve emergency services, increase isolation beds, and ensure adequate medical staff and testing facilities.

Hospitals were also asked to set up dedicated flu corners and maintain sufficient supplies of essential materials. The Health Minister emphasized that there is no need for panic, as most patients have shown mild symptoms and recovered quickly. LNJP Hospital, for instance, has established a dedicated isolation ward and strengthened its medical infrastructure to handle the situation.
