Nvidia is the best barometer for AI investments, indicating whether hyperscalers will continue to increase the pace, from an infrastructure perspective, or become more disciplined.

The CEO of Nvidia, Rob Conzo, told Bloomberg that owning Nvidia stocks across multiple portfolios should help decide this. In the U.S., the consumer price index (CPI) rose 3.7 percent year-over-year in July, the same as the previous month, and higher than the economists' expectation of 3.6 percent, according to Bloomberg. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, remained steady at 3.3 percent, which is supportive for the stock market as it reduces the immediate inflation fear and gives the central bank more time to keep rates unchanged, according to TheStreet.com.

This week's market tension is also related to U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole conference on Friday afternoon.
