Stand by your vote, don’t be intimidated – PDP urges Ogun residents ahead of polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has urged residents to remain vigilant and stand firm by their votes during the upcoming 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections. On Wednesday, the party launched its campaign for these elections, with the Chairman of the Campaign Committee and governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, expressing optimism for a better future.

Adebutu assured residents that they would experience improved living conditions in January, as the President had asked him to pray for this outcome.

Adebutu emphasized the importance of resisting intimidation and standing by one's choices at the polls. His running mate, Lateefat Sowunmi-Kolapo, echoed this sentiment, stressing that elections belong to the people and their right to choose their leaders. Sowunmi-Kolapo urged residents to remain at the polling units after voting to ensure their votes are properly counted and transmitted. She called on supporters to stand by their votes and follow the electoral process to the collation centres.

Senatorial candidate Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, shared her motivation for joining the PDP. Having previously represented the senatorial district from 2007 to 2011, Obasanjo expressed her desire to restore the district to its former glory. She pledged her unwavering support for the PDP candidates and assured them of her votes in January. Thousands of residents and party supporters joined the campaign, vowing to vote for the PDP and stand by their votes.
