Seoul invites families to free weekend circus classes

Families in Seoul can now learn acrobatics at no cost this autumn, as the city transforms a former water station into a venue for free weekend circus workshops. The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture will host Circus Picnic, a series of hands-on sessions that aim to turn the big-top spectacle into an inclusive family bonding experience.

Located at the Seoul Street Arts Creation Center, a repurposed former water pump station, the initiative welcomes parents and elementary school children to join professional circus instructors from the troupe Jumpers. Small groups of up to five family members will practice fundamental circus disciplines, with 12 sessions running through November.

The two-hour program focuses on physical balance, non-competitive teamwork, and shared play, progressing from basic juggling and plate-spinning to beginner-level aerial silk maneuvers.
