Scheffler winning big at home and on the PGA Tour as season comes to an end at Tour Championship

PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp announced on Tuesday that the Tour plans to introduce four new Championship Series events starting in 2028, with details to be revealed in the upcoming weeks. The Truist Championship, a signature event held regularly at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, will join the elite tier of PGA Tour events when the new competitive model is rolled out.

Truist Chairman and CEO Bill Rogers expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the inclusion of the Truist Championship in the PGA Tour Championship Series is a significant milestone for the respected event. The Championship Series is set to feature the top performers of the PGA Tour competing against each other throughout the season, with approximately 23-24 events scheduled from February to August.

The Truist Championship, now in its 24th year, will return to Quail Hollow for the 2028 season, marking its third appearance as a signature event. The full PGA Tour schedule for 2028, including the debut of the Championship Series, will be announced at a later date.
