Scandium Canada hits long runs in Quebec as it preps update

Drill results from Scandium Canada’s Crater Lake project in northern Quebec have returned impressive assays of scandium. At 32.7 metres depth, hole CLB26070 in the TG zone yielded 65.4 metres grading 175 ppm Sc2O3, followed by a 7.2 metre interval grading 316 ppm Sc2O3. The TG zone hosts a total of 16.3 million indicated tonnes grading 277.9 grams of scandium per tonne, as well as 20.9 million inferred tonnes at 271.7 grams per tonne, according to the company’s previous resource update.

Scandium Canada CEO Simon Thibault stated that a preliminary economic assessment, incorporating updated and improved resource data, process optimization, and infrastructure assumptions, will provide a more accurate evaluation of project economics and attract potential strategic partners. This approach is especially relevant as the company’s near-term priority is to accelerate the commercialization of subsidiary Scalium+'s aluminum-scandium alloys, fostering sustainable demand for the future development of Crater Lake.

Noteworthy drill holes at TG include CLB26072, which returned 30.2 metres grading 228 ppm Sc2O3, and CLB26073, which cut 14.1 metres at 227 ppm Sc2O3. Scandium Canada plans to construct a scandium oxide plant in the Schefferville region of Quebec, ideally at a brownfield site, following the completion of a preliminary economic assessment.
