Sage Stephens eyes defensive balance as Stellenbosch FC seek to shoot down Golden Arrows
Sage Stephens has praised Stellies' firing frontline but stressed the need for defensive balance ahead of a stern Betway Premiership test against high-flying Golden Arrows.
Stellenbosch FC are celebrating their recent high morale following their first league win of the season, a 3-1 victory over Marumo Gallants at Athlone Stadium. The team, led by goalkeeper Sage Stephens, has shown great promise with a six-goal haul in back-to-back matches, despite conceding in all of their last three games. Captain Stephens acknowledges the need to improve defensively, given their current struggles, but remains optimistic about their progress.
Stellenbosch will face a tough challenge from Golden Arrows, who have made a strong start to the season and have an impressive record in defense, conceding only once in their last five matches. Arrows are currently in the MTN8 semi-final, and a victory in their upcoming match at King Zwelithini Stadium would serve as a significant morale booster and a valuable practice before their crucial semi-final second-leg against Sundowns.
