Ryan Gosling to produce a live-action Flintstones movie of a different generation

Over a quarter-century has passed since the last live-action Flintstones movie, prompting producer Ryan Gosling to consider a new entry in the franchise. Deadline reports that Gosling, along with his producing partner Jessie Henderson, is currently exploring the possibility of a fresh Flintstones film that centers on an adult Bamm-Bamm.

It remains to be seen whether Gosling plans to take on a role in the production - a decision that is contingent on securing a writer for the project. One intriguing aspect of this potential reboot is the prospect of aging up the beloved character Bamm-Bamm, who could bring a unique energy and charm to the new generation. Bamm-Bamm, the adopted son of Barney and Betty Rubble, once starred in the 1970s animated series, The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show, and was introduced in the 1994 live-action film where his antics often led his parents into financial strife.

He was notably absent from the 2000 prequel, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, which was a critical and commercial failure, effectively ending the live-action exploration of the Stone Age family for two decades. However, Gosling's enthusiasm for a modern take on the Flintstones family suggests that he may have the necessary goodwill to bring a contemporary twist to this classic animated franchise.
