Protest on September 1 if MPSC office bearers don’t resign: Rohit Pawar

MLA Rohit Pawar has threatened to protest outside the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) office on September 1 if Chairman and Secretary do not resign. This comes after the commission cancelled the recruitment process for Drug Inspector, Group-B posts in the Food and Drug Administration department. Pawar mentioned that a preliminary police inquiry found that the exam paper was leaked prior to the test.

Three officials were implicated in the leak, with the private coaching class operator who facilitated the incident now residing in Gujarat. An FIR has been filed against him. Pawar criticised the MPSC's conclusion that the leaked paper only reached a single student, stating it is a large-scale scam. He insisted that the full police inquiry report be released.

Pawar also called for accountability in the competitive exam system, particularly for tribal students. The Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress echoed this demand, urging the MPSC Chairman and Secretary to resign and face legal consequences under the Public Examinations Act. They emphasized that all guilty parties, regardless of their position, should be treated equally under the law.
