Perpetual Lomokie withdraws from NPP National Women’s Organiser race

Perpetual Lomokie Akwada has decided to withdraw from the race for the position of National Women's Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). In a statement released on August 25, 2026, she explained that the decision was the result of deep reflection, prayer, consultations, and careful consideration of the circumstances. Lomokie expressed gratitude to the supporters, women, friends, colleagues, and delegates who had believed in her vision and supported her throughout the campaign.

Despite the difficult decision, she emphasized that she remains committed to the empowerment of women, the growth of the NPP, and the development of Ghana. Lomokie stressed that her withdrawal from the race does not mean she is abandoning her commitment to these causes. She acknowledged that leadership sometimes requires knowing when to pause and reassess, and that she is leaving the contest with gratitude, dignity, and valuable lessons.

Lomokie urged party members to prioritize the broader interests of the NPP above individual ambitions and work towards the party's unity, renewal, and victory. She wished all remaining candidates well and called on them to remember the greater purpose of the NPP's unity, renewal, and victory. Lomokie concluded by stating that her political journey would continue, despite her withdrawal from the race.
