Over 380 missing, including tourists, after flood on Nepal-Tibet border kills at least 19

Over 400 tourists, including visitors from Malaysia, India, the US, and the UK, are missing after catastrophic flooding on the Nepali side of the Himalayan border with China's Tibet on Wednesday (Aug 26), resulting in at least 95 deaths. The disaster, whose cause is still under investigation, has left hundreds of tourists unaccounted for and authorities on both sides fearing higher casualties and extensive damage.

Nepal's foreign minister Shisir Khanal revealed initial reports suggesting an earthquake might have triggered an avalanche and caused the floods. Around 403 tourists - 341 foreigners - were unaccounted for several hours post-disaster, according to Nepal's ministry of culture, tourism, and civil aviation. Among the missing are travelers from India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia.
