Omar Marmoush to undergo Tottenham medical today

Tottenham Hotspur is preparing to finalize the transfer of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian international will undergo a medical at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today, as reported by Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath. The deal between the two clubs is a full verbal agreement, with Tottenham agreeing to an initial season-long loan, with an option to buy for £50 million. Personal terms have already been agreed upon, and Marmoush has traveled to London to complete the move.

Marmoush's arrival at Tottenham brings a dynamic and versatile option to the team, capable of playing as a centre-forward, secondary striker, or winger. His departure from Manchester City will streamline their attack and raise significant funds for the club. The 27-year-old forward joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for approximately £59 million, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists in 62 appearances.

With the completion of the medical and official unveiling, Marmoush will become Tottenham's third Egyptian player, following the footsteps of former striker Mido and midfielder Hossam Ghaly. The transfer also pushes Tottenham's summer transfer spending past £400 million, including the obligation to buy. However, the club is not done with their pursuit of attackers, with Liverpool's Cody Gakpo remaining a top target. For Liverpool to allow him to leave, they must first sign a replacement.
