‘Not impossible’ that Bersatu’s Selangor reps will back Amirudin, says Hilman

Gombak Setia assemblyman Hilman Idham stated that the welfare of the public is the paramount concern when Bersatu decides on who to support. In Selangor, two Bersatu assemblymen believe that the party could endorse menteri besar Amirudin Shari's government until its term concludes. Hilman Idham, the Bersatu Youth chief, asserted that it is not inconceivable, citing past collaborations between Bersatu and both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan.

Rafiq Abdullah, the Kuang assemblyman, agreed that the final decision would hinge on the party's leadership, but acknowledged that "it is possible." The 2023 Selangor state election saw the Parti Penyelenggaraan Demokrasi Malaysia (PH) securing 32 out of the 56 state seats, while Perikatan Nasional claimed 22 – comprising 12 for Bersatu and 10 for PAS.

BN captured two seats. Earlier, in Pahang, the Kuala Sentul assemblyman Jasri Jamaludin and Lepar assemblyman Yazid Yunus declared their allegiance to Wan Rosdy's administration, citing the need to maintain political stability and protect the welfare of their constituents.
