Nepal Floods: UP Issues Helpline 1070 For Stranded Citizens, Border Districts Put On Alert

Lucknow, August 26 - The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced an emergency helpline number, 1070, to aid citizens stranded in Nepal due to severe floods. The Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner's Office stated that anyone from Uttar Pradesh in need of assistance can reach out to this number. The state government is also working with the Indian and Nepalese embassies to ensure the safe return of its citizens and provide immediate help.

Following the Chief Minister's orders, the Relief Commissioner's Office has communicated with both embassies, requesting them to share relevant information about any stranded Uttar Pradesh citizens in Nepal. Citizens are urged to promptly inform the helpline about any family members who are stranded in Nepal. Due to the significant flooding in Nepal's Rasuwa region along the Bhotekoshi River, vigilance has been heightened in Uttar Pradesh's border districts of Maharajganj and Kushinagar.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed concern over the damage caused in Nepal and ordered the administrations of these districts to be fully prepared. He instructed continuous monitoring of water levels in the Gandak and Narayani rivers. The Chief Minister prayed for the safety and well-being of everyone.
