Nepal Flood Live Updates: Bihar on alert after Nepal flash floods lead to swelling of Gandak River

Eight South Korean employees of Korea South-East Power and Doosan Enerbility were missing, while 10 others were stranded after a severe flood in Nepal, the country's foreign ministry reported on Wednesday. These individuals were working on the construction of a hydropower plant in Rasuwa district, Nepal. The remaining ten South Koreans, also affiliated with Doosan Enerbility, were stranded in the area and in need of rescue, according to the ministry.

The Nepalese government dispatched a helicopter to assist in the evacuation of the stranded South Koreans, as per the ministry. Following the receipt of information about the missing South Koreans, the South Korean Embassy in Nepal alerted the Nepalese authorities and requested an immediate and vigorous search and rescue operation.

President Lee Jae Myung, upon being informed of the situation, directed authorities to deploy all available resources for an urgent search and rescue operation, stated senior presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung to the press.
