Nepal Flash Flood: Sadhguru Says Kailash Yatra Group Caught In Tibet Flash Flood, No Information Yet On Their Safety

One of the groups participating in the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage was caught in a devastating flash flood in Gyirong, Tibet, China, according to Sadhguru, founder of the Isha Foundation. The group was returning from the pilgrimage and had arrived at an immigration centre when the flood struck. The building and a significant portion of the town were reportedly inundated.

As of now, there is no official information regarding the whereabouts of those who were at the immigration centre. However, Sadhguru confirmed that rescue efforts were underway, with volunteers and support teams working alongside authorities to reach the affected area and provide assistance. The organization expressed readiness to participate in rescue operations despite the dangers involved.

Out of the 21 groups participating in the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage, 495 people from the groups had already safely returned. Currently, 743 individuals were in Tibet, and 148 were in Nepal. Among those at the immigration centre during the flooding were 77 people, including three volunteers in Timure, Nepal.

Sadhguru expressed deep anguish over the situation, emphasizing his personal commitment to ensuring that every possible effort was made to assist those affected. He conveyed his solidarity with the families of those caught in the disaster, stating that the organization was making every effort during this profoundly difficult time. The death toll from the floods in Nepal has risen to 95, with 341 foreign nationals still missing, according to separate updates from police and the tourism ministry.
