Mumbai Accident: 26-Year-Old Woman Survives Fall From 10th-Floor SRA Building In Bhandup After Landing On Tree Branches | VIDEO

Mumbai, August 26, 2026: A 26-year-old woman named Pratiksha Ankush Hiwarale survived a fall from the 10th floor of a residential building in Bhandup West on Wednesday morning after landing in a tree branch. The incident occurred at around 9.30 am at Sunshine Co-operative Housing Society in Tulshhetpada.

Hiwarale, identified by the Bhandup police, sustained serious injuries and lost consciousness after the fall. She is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at Sion Hospital.

Upon receiving a call about the incident, police personnel and the Mumbai Fire Brigade launched a rescue operation. Fire Brigade personnel used a ladder to climb the tree and safely secured the woman with a cloth sheet. They then carefully cut through the branches and lowered her to the ground.

Hiwarale was first taken to Mulund General Hospital for preliminary treatment before being transferred to Sion Hospital for further medical care. Police could not record her statement as she was unconscious at the time. Her husband and parents have been informed about the incident and will be questioned as part of the police inquiry.

The dramatic rescue operation, captured on mobile phones by local residents, has since gone viral on social media. Police are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Hiwarale's fall from the 10th floor.
