Malaysia slams Israeli seizure of UNRWA training centre in occupied East Jerusalem

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi denounced the Israeli national security minister's raid on a UNRWA institute in Jerusalem. He denounced the seizure, evacuation of staff, and commencement of demolition work at the facility, as well as attacks on other UNRWA offices in the city. Al-Yamahi's statement on Monday asserted that this action represents a clear breach of UN immunities and a hostile act against its institutions and resolutions.

He urged the global community and the UN Security Council to take immediate, enforceable measures to cease Israeli assaults on UN premises and to hold accountable those responsible. Al-Yamahi emphasized that Israeli attempts to target UNRWA cannot succeed in resolving the Palestinian refugee crisis. He reaffirmed the Arab Parliament's commitment to safeguarding the agency, its UN mandate, and the rightful claims of the Palestinian populace, with the right of return and the creation of an independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital, being paramount.
