Labour CS Mutua launches flying vlog after earning pilot licence

Nairobi, Kenya — Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has unveiled a unique way to share his passion for flying: a flying vlog. Mutua, who recently earned his Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and boasts over 300 flying hours, decided to document his aerial adventures and share them with the world. The inaugural episode of his vlog took viewers on a solo flight from Nairobi to Malindi, offering a firsthand look at his experience in the cockpit.

Mutua's fascination with aviation started at a young age, with dreams of piloting planes beginning when he was just nine years old. His journey to becoming a licensed aviator has been a long one, marked by a series of life events that have sometimes put his dreams on hold. However, in 2023, Mutua reignited his passion for flying, enrolling at Ninety Nine’s Flying School at Wilson Airport.

After months of intensive training, Mutua completed his first solo flight and went on to pass his test, earning his PPL. Mutua plans to release additional episodes of his flying vlog on Thursdays and Saturdays, inviting viewers to follow his journey. He credits his family and friends, particularly his children, for their unwavering support in helping him achieve his childhood dream.
