Kuje chairman withdraws ‘support APC or leave’ remark

The chairman of Kuje Area Council, Danjuma Shekwolo, has retracted his earlier statement that required residents to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) or leave the council. The remark, which sparked criticism after a video of Shekwolo circulated, was made during a meeting with APC youths and supporters. Shekwolo clarified that the comment was not intended to infringe upon anyone's rights based on their political affiliation.

He emphasized that the statement was made during a discussion on administrative efficiency, local development, and the welfare of residents. Despite the controversy, Shekwolo assured the community that his administration would continue to govern fairly and work towards the development of all areas within Kuje.
