Jubilee dismisses departure by some members to DCP

The Jubilee Party has dismissed reports of several of its members departing, stating that those claiming defection have already been suspended for misconduct and interfering with party affairs. Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i said the party respects individual political choices but views the departures in their proper political context.

The affected individuals were suspended due to alleged misconduct, mismanagement of party affairs, and interference with established party structures and processes. Matiang’i emphasized that the disciplinary measures were not political retaliation but necessary steps to protect the party's integrity. He noted that some individuals who held party offices and secured elective positions under Jubilee had been operating outside the party's programmes, structures, and collective decisions.

Matiang’i cautioned against viewing the departures as a mass movement away from the party, emphasizing that individual political decisions should not be equated with the party's wider membership or the Nairobi electorate. Jubilee is focusing on rebuilding and reorganizing its structures ahead of the 2027 General Election, aiming to present itself as a serious political alternative by concentrating on policy, service delivery, and grassroots organization.

The party is open to new members and aspirants committed to responsible, inclusive, and competent leadership.
