Jerebu: 17 kawasan catat IPU tak sihat, Sri Aman tertinggi

At 8 a.m. today, Sri Aman in Sarawak recorded the highest unhealthy air pollution index (IPU) reading of 167, followed by IPD Serian (166) and Samarahan (162). According to the Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) data, 17 locations across six states and two federal territories recorded unhealthy air pollution levels by 8 a.m. three locations in Sarawak were identified with unhealthy air quality, with Sri Aman recording the highest reading of 167, followed by IPD Serian (166) and Samarahan (162).

In Selangor, five locations recorded readings exceeding 100, with Johan Setia and Shah Alam each at 158, Klang (151), Banting (144), and Petaling Jaya (123). In Kuala Lumpur, Cheras (159) and Batu Muda (152) recorded unhealthy air pollution levels, while Nilai (162) and Seremban (158) in Negeri Sembilan, Putrajaya (159), Tangkak in Johor (153), Bukit Rambai (143) and Alor Gajah (128) in Melaka, and Taiping in Perak (108) also showed unhealthy air quality.

Additionally, 49 locations nationwide recorded moderate air quality, two locations recorded good air quality, and no location recorded extremely unhealthy or dangerous air quality at this early hour. Air Pollution Index readings ranging from 0 to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate air quality, 101 to 200 unhealthy air quality, 201 to 300 very unhealthy air quality, and readings exceeding 300 are considered hazardous.

Air Pollution Index data is released hourly based on records from 68 air quality monitoring stations throughout the country.
