Irish couple found dead at Spanish resort

Spanish authorities are probing the deaths of an Irish couple found at a coastal resort south of Valencia, according to police reports. The homicide squad is at the forefront of the investigation, though the likelihood of the fatalities being the result of an accident in a jacuzzi remains under consideration. The bodies of the 50-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were discovered on Tuesday afternoon in the residential district of Cap Blanc, located in Cullera, a town with a population of approximately 25,000 people.

Their own children alerted the authorities to the bodies, found in a jacuzzi. The Civil Guard, the lead investigative force, confirmed the couple's nationalities as Irish. Initial evidence suggests the possibility of wrongful death, prompting the deployment of a specialized Civil Guard homicide unit in Valencia to manage the ongoing probe.

A sample of the water from the jacuzzi has been sent to a laboratory for further analysis. The children are receiving support from social workers and a psychologist. Cap Blanc is a favored beachside residential area in Cullera, close to the resort's lighthouse. The community consists of upscale villas and apartments with Mediterranean Sea views. The Irish Foreign Office has been notified of the incident for further response.
