Instinct Nears $2.5 Billion Valuation as AI Assistants Take Over Daily Chores

Instinct, an artificial intelligence-powered assistant developed by Noah Shinn, is reportedly nearing a $2.5 billion valuation following a $250 million Series B funding round, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Shinn founded the company in 2025, which has raised a total of $350 million, including the recent round. The AI assistant gained popularity in February when it began testing in private beta and continued to expand its user base after users shared its capabilities on social media.

Users can communicate with the AI bot through phone calls or text messages, utilizing it to perform tasks such as replying to emails, managing calendars, booking transportation, shopping for insurance, or finding apartment rentals. However, some users have expressed concerns about security and privacy due to Instinct's access to sensitive personal data and the company's policies that allow it to train its AI models on user data.

Shinn acknowledged these concerns and stated that the company has taken measures to address them by limiting the agent's capabilities. The personal assistant integrates with users' emails, messaging platforms, screens, audio, and location data, providing a user-friendly interface via a phone and computer. Shinn expressed excitement over the early users' achievements with Instinct, highlighting examples such as planning cross-country trips, grocery shopping, ticket purchases, and subscription cancellations.

A PYMNTS Intelligence report revealed that the next wave of AI growth will center around assisting with daily chores like meal planning, shopping, reminders, budgeting, household logistics, and personal planning.
