IIT Delhi protest Day 4: Students say won’t be ‘rage-baited’, seek alumni support

On the fourth day of protests, IIT Delhi students announced they would not resort to "rage-baiting" tactics and sought alumni assistance to support their cause. The death of MSc Physics student Rishikesh Kumar, who allegedly took his own life by jumping from the sixth floor of a campus building, continues to fuel the students' demands for change.

Kumar's family has been provided with financial assistance through the university's benevolent fund, and an external Ombudsperson has been appointed to handle unresolved grievances. However, the administration has declined to accept the students' demands for resignations of certain officials or a specific compensation amount. The students have decided to continue attending classes for now, trusting each other to make informed decisions based on their individual circumstances.

They have also warned that they will not engage with those attempting to provoke them during the ongoing agitation.
