Grid Dynamics names Nikita Ivanov head of AI division

Grid Dynamics, a California-based technology company listed on NASDAQ under the symbol GDYN, has appointed Nikita Ivanov as the head of its AI division, according to a recent press release. In this role, Ivanov oversees the company's AI portfolio, which includes the GAIN platforms, and is tasked with guiding clients towards an AI-native software delivery model. The firm reports that AI now contributes over 30% of its total revenue.

Ivanov's appointment comes after he founded GridGain, a distributed computing company specializing in in-memory data processing, where he spent 15 years. He also created the natural language processing framework Apache NLPCraft and an AI workforce platform called Humatron AI. Prior to joining Grid Dynamics, Ivanov was the Field CTO for GenAI at DataStax.

Dr. Eugene Steinberg, the company's Chief Technology Officer, praised Ivanov's unique blend of technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to translate emerging AI technologies into scalable production systems. Ivanov himself emphasized his goal of accelerating the shift to AI-native software delivery for clients while maintaining Grid Dynamics' position at the forefront of AI innovation.

The company has been investing in AI since 2018, beginning with deep learning and reinforcement learning, and has since expanded into advanced analytics and generative AI.

Grid Dynamics, headquartered in Silicon Valley, maintains offices in the Americas, Europe, and India. The company develops AI-SDLC tools such as Allium, Rosetta, and SpecFlow, which have been released as open source.
