Gov Kefas pledges continued support for Nigerian Army in Taraba

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has reiterated his administration's dedication to enhancing security in the region, emphasizing security as a cornerstone for peace, sustainable development, and economic growth. During a meeting with the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 10 Division of the Nigerian Army on Tuesday, Kefas highlighted the importance of a robust partnership between the state government and the Nigerian Army in maintaining peace and effectively responding to security threats.

The governor affirmed that his administration would persist in backing security forces operating within the state, asserting that a secure environment is vital for attracting investments, stimulating economic activities, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

In an effort to bolster the newly formed 10 Division, Kefas announced that the state government has offered temporary housing for division personnel until their permanent barracks are completed on the outskirts of Jalingo. This support aims to facilitate the division's timely and efficient operations while the construction of their permanent facilities progresses.

The governor pledged the state's ongoing commitment and cooperation to the Nigerian Army, reiterating his administration's resolve to provide a conducive atmosphere for the division to carry out its duties effectively. Kefas underscored that security is a pivotal element of the development strategy of his administration, stating that peace and stability are indispensable for fostering economic growth and comprehensive development in Taraba and the broader North-East region.
