Google Expands Gemini Live With Daily Brief, Spark Agent and Workspace Context

Google is rolling out significant enhancements to its Gemini app, transforming its assistant experience from merely answering prompts to managing information and completing tasks across connected Google tools. The expansion includes several new features: Daily Brief, a personalized morning digest; Gemini Spark, an always-on personal AI agent; and tighter integration of Gemini Live within the broader Gemini ecosystem.

While these updates introduce more than just a new voice interface, Google aims to create a system that leverages context from Gmail, Calendar, and Gemini chats to help users prioritize tasks, continue work across conversations, and potentially delegate multi-step actions. According to Google, these features represent an evolution toward a more proactive and autonomous assistant.

The Daily Brief feature provides a personalized morning overview by aggregating priorities from a user's Gmail, Calendar, and Gemini chats, delivering prioritized items and recommended next steps. This tool is set to launch initially for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the United States, though availability outside the U.S. remains unclear.

Gemini Spark, the more ambitious component of the expansion, functions as a 24/7 personal AI agent capable of carrying out tasks and remaining connected to Workspace tools such as Gmail, Docs, and Slides. It will undergo a trusted tester phase before a beta for Ultra subscribers. Additionally, Gemini Live in Gemini allows users to transition seamlessly between brief text queries and extended spoken conversations, enhancing natural dialogue with improved microphone support.

This integrated approach enables users to move fluidly between short prompts and longer, more conversational interactions within the same interface. Google emphasizes Personal Intelligence, a framework that uses contextual data from Google products to tailor responses and actions.
