Goodman hits 35th homer in his return to the lineup as Rockies snap skid with 3-1 win over Nationals

Hunter Goodman, returning from a shoulder injury, hit his 35th homer of the season, contributing to the Colorado Rockies' 3-1 victory over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night. This win marked the first time the Rockies had won in seven games. Mason Adams made his major league debut and pitched well, working into the fifth inning, allowing only one run and striking out five batters.

Daylen Lile hit a crucial homer in the fourth inning, making it 2-1, while Connor Norby added an RBI double in the same inning. Jordan Beck, scoring from second on a wild pitch, extended the Rockies' lead to three runs. However, the scoring for Washington was limited to one homer by Andrew Alvarez, who allowed three runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Mason Adams, who played in his first big league game, walked three batters and struck out five. The Rockies acquired Adams recently in a trade, sending Brenton Doyle to the Chicago White Sox. Tanner Gordon will start for Colorado on Wednesday night, while the Nationals did not announce a starter for their next game.
