Gagash, wife face eight additional charges

The Polokwane Magistrate's Court in Limpopo has informed that Tshwane Metro Police Department officer Peter "Gagash" Nonyane and his wife, lawyer Charlotte Tibana, have been charged with eight additional counts, including fraud and theft. The State has added these charges to the existing ones against the couple, alleging that they acted in common purpose.

According to the State prosecutor Martin Molokwane, the couple allegedly transferred more than R4 million from the deceased estate accounts of Masha, Mathabatha, Maswanganyi, and Moetjie for their own benefit. Some of the funds were allegedly deposited into a stokvel account belonging to "Gagash". The combined total amount of prejudice contained in counts 6 to 13 is reported as R1,380,901.50. The bail hearing for the two accused has been postponed to Thursday afternoon.
