Gadkari office clarifies on retirement remark

Union minister Nitin Gadkari clarified his remarks about transferring responsibility to the "new generation" after media interpreted them as a potential sign of retirement. His office emphasized that the comments were specifically about the Laxmanrao Mankar Trust, a social organization founded by Gadkari that operates Ekal Vidyalayas in tribal regions.

The minister was speaking to a gathering at the Eklavya Ekal Vidyalaya Shikshak-Parvekshak Parikshan Varg event in Nagpur when he mentioned his reduced capacity to dedicate much time to the trust and urged the younger generation to take on greater responsibility. Gadkari's office stated that his remarks were clearly focused on the functioning and future leadership of the trust, and were not intended as a political statement.
