Hedge fund Millennium Management has bolstered its presence in Jersey by appointing a former Goldman Sachs energy trading chief as a senior commodities portfolio manager. Emmanuel Clair, who spent two years running his own commodities investment business, joins the firm after a decade-long career at the investment bank. Clair's appointment comes as the island continues to attract hedge fund professionals seeking an alternative to traditional financial hubs.

Prior to founding Dolment Advisors, Clair held key positions at EDF Energy, where he managed power options and structured products trading. The appointment highlights Millennium's growing focus on Jersey as a viable base for investment professionals, particularly following earlier reports of the fund considering expanding its operations in the region amid geopolitical tensions in the UAE.
