Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed local authorities in Maharajganj and Kushinagar districts to ensure comprehensive preparedness and vigilance due to the severe flooding of the Bhotekoshi River in Nepal's Rasuwa region, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday (August 26, 2026). The floods have raised concerns about potential water level increases in the Gandak and Narayani rivers in these Uttar Pradesh districts.

Chief Minister Adityanath described the situation as deeply concerning and prayed to Lord Pashupatinath for the safety and well-being of all those affected.
