Enbridge Buys $600 Million Permian Crude Network

Enbridge has bolstered its presence in the Permian Basin by acquiring Salt Creek Midstream's crude oil gathering business for $600 million. This strategic move grants the pipeline giant control over the Orla and Wink North gathering systems, along with a 50% stake in the Delaware Crossing system, adding roughly 500 miles of crude gathering infrastructure.

The combined systems can process 420,000 barrels of crude daily and store 350,000 barrels, serving over 20 producers across 320,000 net dedicated acres with long-term agreements averaging 10 years in length.

The acquisition is particularly significant as it connects with major Permian takeaway pipelines, such as the Enbridge-controlled Gray Oak Pipeline. This enables Enbridge to offer customers a more streamlined route from the wellhead, through Gray Oak and Cactus II, to the Ingleside Energy Center near Corpus Christi, North America's largest crude export terminal. Colin Gruending, president of Enbridge Liquids Pipelines, highlighted that this acquisition extends Enbridge's footprint deeper into the Permian Basin.

The deal comes amid increasing U.S. crude exports, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure linking the Permian Basin, America's largest oil-producing region, with Gulf Coast terminals. Enbridge anticipates the transaction to be immediately beneficial for distributable cash flow and earnings per share, maintaining its 2026 financial guidance with the acquisition expected to close later this year.
