Eid-el-Maulud: Imbibe virtues of Prophet Muhammad, Tinubu, govs tell Muslims

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and several state governors have called upon Muslims to celebrate Eid-el-Maulud by embracing the virtuous teachings of Prophet Muhammad. The celebration, which marks the birth of the Prophet, is an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings, and exemplary character of the Prophet, according to the President.

Tinubu urged Muslims to learn from the Prophet's virtues of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness. He also implored religious leaders to use the period to pray for the country and to encourage their followers to translate the Prophet's teachings into their commitment to the nation.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State emphasized the importance of virtues such as peace, justice, compassion, honesty, patience, and tolerance. He urged Muslims to promote peaceful coexistence, unity, and mutual respect among people of diverse backgrounds, especially among younger generations.

Other state governors echoed similar sentiments, calling on Muslims to emulate the Prophet's virtues and translate them into their daily lives, interactions, and relationships. They urged Muslims to use the occasion to offer prayers for peace, unity, stability, and prosperity in their respective states and the nation. The celebration of Eid-el-Maulud should extend beyond mere commemoration to a renewed commitment to living by the Prophet's teachings and exemplary character.
