Dubai announces free parking on Friday for Prophet Mohammed's birthday holiday

Drivers in Dubai will enjoy complimentary parking on Friday, during a public holiday commemorating the Prophet Mohammed's birthday. The Roads and Transport Authority announced that all public parking spaces will be free of charge, except for multistorey car parks. Parking fees will resume on Saturday, August 29. Additionally, Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram will extend their service hours on Friday, with the Metro running from 5am to 1am the following day and trams operating from 6am to 1am.

The Prophet Mohammed's birthday, called Mawlid Al Nabawi, was observed on Tuesday. However, the public holiday was scheduled for Friday, leading to a three-day break for both public and private sector workers. Passengers heading to Abu Dhabi are advised to use the E101 service from Ibn Battuta Bus Station, as the E100 route from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Abu Dhabi will not run from Thursday to Sunday, August 30.

Bus schedules may change during the holiday, and travelers should check the S hail app for updated timetables. The Umm Ramool Customer Happiness Centre and smart customer service centers in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Twar, Al Kifaf, and the RTA Head Office will remain open 24/7. Most vehicle testing centers will be closed, with normal hours resuming on Saturday.

Some centers, including Al Mutakamela Al Quoz, Al Mutakamela Al Qusais, Aber Wasel, and Al Jaddaf, will remain operational from 7am to noon and 3pm to 10:30pm.
