Dolly Parton’s Manager Details the Business Ventures ‘She Had Yet to Fulfill’

Dolly Parton, the beloved music icon, passed away at age 80 on Aug. 25, but her creative spirit and entrepreneurial endeavors continue to thrive. Her longtime manager, Danny Nozell, revealed that Parton remained active until her final moments, working to bring her unfulfilled visions to life. Nozell emphasized that they would honor her legacy by ensuring projects yet to be realized were completed.

Several projects were in various stages of development when Parton fell ill. In June, Dolly's Tennesseean Travel Stops opened in Cornersville, Tenn., and will celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week starting Sept. 13, 2026. The singer was also preparing to open the Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel in downtown Nashville, with stays commencing Sept. 14 and a grand opening set for Sept. 29, 2026. The Dolly's Life of Many Colors Museum, located within the hotel, is scheduled for a grand opening on the same date.

In September, fans can look forward to the launch of several new products and experiences. A Dolly Doll line will be available online on Sept. 15, while Dolly's Cup of Ambition Coffee, created in partnership with Community Coffee, will debut online on Sept. 29 and later in retail stores in spring 2027. The musical about Parton's life and career, Dolly: A True Original Musical, is set to begin Broadway previews on Dec.

7, with an opening night on Jan. 19, marking what would have been her 81st birthday. Additionally, the holiday project Dolly On The Holly and the Kendra Scott x Dolly-The 9 to 5 jewelry collection are slated for release later this year and in January 2027, respectively.

The year 2028 will bring more exciting developments, including the launch of Dolly's Dog Treats and Dolly Bedding & Home Decor lines, both set for late 2027. A Dolly avatar show, a documentary about her musical career, an animated series based on her Billy The Kid children's book series, as well as a Dolly-inspired biopic, docuseries, and scripted series are also in the works. Dollywood, Parton's theme park, will remain open on Aug. 26, as her spirit continues to inspire and remind everyone that "the show must go on."
