Dolly Parton’s Cause of Death Revealed

Dolly Parton, the country music icon who celebrated her 80th birthday today, passed away after a brief battle with cancer, according to a statement released by her team on Tuesday evening. The beloved singer, songwriter, and philanthropist was found resting at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville. Her team highlighted Parton's enduring legacy, emphasizing her commitment to bringing joy and hope to millions through her music, Imagination Library, and commitment to various causes.

Parton's team described her generosity as reaching individuals she had never met, with her Imagination Library alone distributing over 100 million books to children worldwide. The country music legend, a member of both the Country Music Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, wrote 113 songs that spent over 28 years on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

Her death, initially reported by her nephew Bryan Seaver, came almost 18 months after the loss of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025. Seaver added that Parton, who had always seen opportunities where others saw obstacles, had departed "in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents and countless others who had watched her and longed for her to meet them in the heavens."

Even in her passing, Parton maintained her characteristic humor, joking that she wanted to rest in a bed of plush cotton after a life filled with rhinestones.
