LAHORE: The Punjab home department has extended the deadline for online registration of arms dealers' data by ten days, setting the new deadline for Sept 6, 2026. All registered arms dealers must upload complete stock and purchase-sale records on the digital inventory registration system by the new date. Currently, 230 out of 413 registered arms dealers have registered their details in the system.
Deputy commissioners across districts are aiding arms dealers in registering their digital inventories. The extension of the deadline is part of a training workshop organized by the home department for arms dealers in Lahore, held on Tuesday, to guide them on using the digital inventory registration system. Over 350 arms dealers attended the workshop, including those participating online, to learn about the system at Punjab Arms Licence Portal offices.
The digital inventory registration aims to curb crime and prevent illegal arms purchase and sales in Punjab. Arms dealers who fail to upload their inventories will face legal consequences, including license suspension, business sealing, and fines as per the law. Additional Secretary (Judicial) Abdul Rauf, Deputy Secretary (Judicial) Muhammad Murtaza, and National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) officials conducted the workshop on the use of the online portal and digital inventory registration.
