Panthers HC Dave Canales called Bryce Young the team's franchise QB "right now," leaving some wiggle room about his future.
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales conveyed a message about the team's outlook for quarterback Bryce Young during an interview on Stephen A. Smith's SiriusXM radio show. Canales expressed his continued confidence in Young, despite the uncertainty that may lie ahead. Despite the Panthers' investment in Young during the 2021 draft, Canales acknowledged that the future of the franchise quarterback is not guaranteed beyond the current season.
The coach praised Young's mental fortitude and cool demeanor, affirming that Young is the team's current franchise quarterback and that he is "right now" in the right trajectory. However, Canales' comments suggested that there may be no guarantees for Young beyond 2026, leaving the door open for potential changes in the future.
