Chirag Paswan’s LJP(RV) appoints Surender Vivek as party’s Bihar chief

In a recent reorganization, the Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP-RV), an ally of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has appointed Surender Vivek as the party's Bihar chief. This change comes after Raju Tiwari, who served as the State chief and MLA from East Champaran’s Govindganj, was demoted to the national general secretary role.

Vivek, who is not a current legislator, participated in the 2025 Assembly election from Sahebpur-Kamal constituency in Begusarai district but lost to the Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Satanand Sambuddha by over 15,000 votes. Tiwari previously held the Bihar presidency from June 2021 to August 2026. The LJP-RV now boasts 12 national general secretaries, including Tiwari, and Rajesh Verma, MP from Khagaria, has been appointed as the national treasurer.

Chirag Paswan continues to serve as the national president and chairperson of the party’s Central Parliamentary Board. Abdul Khaliq has taken on the role of national secretary general. The party has also designated eight national secretaries and 11 national presidents for various cells, including Shambhavi Chaudhary as the national youth wing president and three permanent invitees along with six national vice-presidents.

With upcoming Assembly elections in multiple states, the LJP-RV aims to expand its leadership restructuring efforts to neighboring Uttar Pradesh, with Rajeev Pasi and Pawan Kumar Verma appointed as working and president for eastern and western U.P. respectively. Despite winning 19 out of 28 seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly election, the LJP-RV did not secure any seats in the 2022 U.P.

Chirag Paswan congratulated the newly appointed national office bearers in a social media post, wishing them a successful tenure.
