Cabinet posts real estate tokenisation draft on Sharek platform for feedback

The Malaysian Cabinet has given its preliminary approval for an elevated expressway project connecting Bandar Malaysia in southern Kuala Lumpur to Seri Kembangan in Selangor. Known as the Bandar Malaysia-Seri Kembangan Elevated Expressway (BSE), the project aims to link important highway networks, such as the KL-Seremban Expressway, MEX Highway, Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya), New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Kesas Highway, and the Sprint Highway network.

Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi highlighted that the BSE could serve as an alternative route for drivers, potentially easing traffic congestion and improving travel times across the northern, southern, and eastern corridors of Peninsular Malaysia. He stated that better access to employment centers, educational institutions, and public services could be achieved through the project, as conveyed in a recent statement.

Subsequently, the Ministry will engage in negotiations and detailed assessments to determine the project's implementation structure in collaboration with relevant government agencies, including the Prime Minister's Department's public-private partnership unit. The project is planned to be privately financed, with no financial involvement from the federal government.

The government has pledged to rigorously evaluate the project in terms of public safety and fiscal sustainability before making any final decisions on implementation. Additionally, the government will continue to explore other infrastructure projects to complete road networks and alleviate congestion in the Klang Valley.
