Cabinet holds regular session

His Excellency Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani led the Cabinet's regular session at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday. The meeting began with a briefing on the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's preparations for the 2026-2027 school year. The Cabinet praised the education sector's progress, particularly in constructing new schools in densely populated areas according to international standards.

They commended efforts to enhance educational workforces, curriculum development, and quality education to align with scientific and technological advancements, ensuring a secure and integrated learning environment to meet national development goals in line with the Third National Development Strategy (NDS3) and Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Cabinet also discussed the draft bill on real estate tokenization and trading, prepared by the Ministry of Justice in collaboration with other key authorities. This bill aims to diversify real estate products to attract investment while establishing a legal framework for tokenization that defines token nature, owner rights, trading regulation, and connects it to the Real Estate Registry for secure and transparent transactions. The Cabinet agreed to post the draft bill for public review before legislative review.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved updates to the Official Gazette system, including a new draft bill and decision regulating its electronic publication and services. This system aims to enhance legal certainty through an independent website, search, notification, verification services, and open data access. The Cabinet also approved a proposal to organize document management authorities in Qatar, based on internationally recognized practices, to ensure efficient record governance.

Lastly, the Cabinet discussed a draft agreement for financial cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait, as well as amendments to an existing Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force MOU to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
