Auramarine strengthens business development and lifecycle services leadership with two senior appointments

Auramarine, a prominent fuel supply systems specialist, has bolstered its business development and lifecycle services leadership with the appointment of two senior executives. Lauri Helkkula has been named Business Development & Key Account Director, and Aki Sand has taken on the role of Vice President of Sales, Business Line (BL) Lifecycle Services, EMEA.

Both roles commenced on August 10, 2026. These strategic appointments are aimed at bolstering Auramarine's capacity to discover new business prospects and focus on delivering customized fuel supply system solutions to cater to customers' fuel requirements. The surge in demand for lifecycle support and enduring customer service contracts across the EMEA and Americas regions has made a larger, specialized sales team a critical factor in delivering a reactive, relationship-driven customer experience that shipowners and engine manufacturers now anticipate from their fuel systems partners.

Helkkula brings over 25 years of diverse experience within Auramarine, enabling him to make informed decisions and fully comprehend the company's business, customers, and operating environment. As the Key Account Director for BL Projects, Helkkula will be in charge of key accounts in Germany and engine manufacturers within the EMEA region.

Germany remains a crucial market for Auramarine, and reinforcing customer relationships and market presence there is a top priority for the company's competitiveness. Helkkula will report to CEO John Bergman, both in his Business Development & Key Account Director role and as Key Account Director for his Key Account Director responsibilities.

Sand, who joins Auramarine from MacGregor, a specialist in advanced cargo and load-handling solutions, has a proven track record in leading lifecycle services, spare parts, and industrial service businesses. In his new role, Sand will steer and foster BL Lifecycle Services sales and business operations across the EMEA and Americas, and will also report to Bergman.
