Aker BP begins production from Skarv Satellites in Norwegian Sea

Aker BP has begun producing oil from the Skarv Satellite Project in the Norwegian Sea, bringing three new fields online ahead of schedule. The Alve Nord, Idun Nord and Ørn fields are located near the existing Skarv field and hold nearly 120 million barrels of oil equivalent in recoverable resources. By utilizing existing infrastructure, Aker BP has managed to keep the carbon dioxide intensity of production low, at around 4.5kg per barrel of oil equivalent.

The CEO of Aker BP, Karl Johnny Hersvik, hailed the start-up as a major milestone, demonstrating the achievements possible through close collaboration among employees, alliance partners, and suppliers. The Skarv Satellites project is expected to bolster the Skarv area's production capacity for years to come and pave the way for future resource development in the Norwegian Sea.
