The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Science and Technology Interest Group (AI/ML STIG) is set to launch its second-year lecture series on 14 September 2026. Weekly talks will be held every Monday at 4p Eastern (1p Pacific), providing an opportunity for members to engage in discussions about various topics within the field.
The organizers, on behalf of the AI/ML STIG, are still finalizing the complete schedule and the list of speakers. However, they have shared a preliminary idea of the themes that will be covered throughout the series. These themes include Agentic AI basics and applications, AI for scientific instrumentation, AI policy and collaboration opportunities, and AI for upcoming astronomical surveys.
In addition to the weekly talks, there will be interactive sessions and town halls to facilitate further engagement and discussion among participants.
