55,000 policemen deployed for Eid-i-Milad security across Punjab

In Punjab, 55,000 policemen were deployed to ensure security for a significant number of Eid Miladun Nabi gatherings and processions, according to the Punjab Police. Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem announced that the Counter Terrorism Department would also keep a watchful eye on the main events, along with the field police officers from regional and district levels.

The police spokesperson revealed that over 55,000 officers and personnel would be guarding 1,436 Miladun Nabi gatherings and 2,479 processions across the province, with 216 processions and 111 Milad gatherings specifically taking place in Lahore alone. Furthermore, more than 8,000 dedicated officers, personnel, and volunteers would be responsible for maintaining security in the provincial capital.

The Inspector General emphasized the importance of adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processions, rallies, and gatherings scheduled on 12th Rabiul Awwal, and he instructed the deployment of additional personnel at sensitive locations. To monitor these events, Safe City cameras would be utilized, according to the police.
